For helping the community (and me to remember) I have pooled the official win32 installation guide available through lyx.org. LyX is for those guys whom have to write a diploma/doctor thesis (or something comparable) and want a good style produced by latex without writing the nice tex-code.

To install lyx for windows just do the following things:
- Download the MikTeX-Package from the server, execute it and follow the instructions.
- Download these fonts and unpack them to the Windows-Font-Dir (XP uses C:\Windows\Fonts).
- Optional: Download ImageMagick if you want to operate with graphics and install the exe.
- Download the LyX file 1, LyX file 2 and LyX file 3. To unpack these files to a directory of your choise just execute the
lyx-1.3.3-win32.exe.
That’s all. Just search an exe file in the lyx directory and start it.
